                        Dear Sir:
We received your letter of the 28th November, and have carefully noted your remarks regarding the value received from the sale
                           of your property.

The sale of your property was carried out by this office on intructions received from
the Canadian Government at Ottawa on the basis of appraised valuations. While we appreciate that this is a matter of
personal concern to you, we must advise that we are not in a position to consider
any alternative in the matter or offer any suggestion as to any action you might take.

Your letter will however be placed on your file, where it will be available at any
future date, showing your expression in the matter.

                        Terminology
Readers of these historical materials will encounter derogatory references to Japanese
Canadians and euphemisms used to obscure the intent and impacts of the internment
and dispossession. While these are important realities of the history, the Landscapes
of Injustice Research Collective urges users to carefully consider their own terminological
choices in writing and speaking about this topic today as we confront past injustice.
See our statement on terminology, and related sources here.
